Hi Everyone,
I feel like Fall isn’t complete without Sunflowers and these lovely blooms from Honey Bee Stamps’ Sweet Sunflowers stamp set are absolutely beautiful! I knew the moment I saw them I had to snatch them up.
Images
I began by stamping all of the images from Sweet Sunflowers onto MFT’s Kraft cardstock and then heat embossed them with Hero Arts’ Brass embossing powder. Next, since I’ve been neglecting my color pencils for awhile I decided to color the images using Faber Castell’s Polychromos color pencils – I love how this turned out. After the coloring was complete I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.
Background
To create the background, I used Simon Says Stamp’s Old Letter background stamp and Hero Arts’ Soft Brown ink to add some texture to a piece of MFT’s Kraft cardstock. I then used one of Pinkfresh Studio’s Slim Edgers dies to add a decretive edge to the bottom of the Kraft panel. After this I adhered the Kraft panel directly to a white slimline card base – I love the pop of white it really adds drama to the card.
Sentiment
For the sentiment, I used Honey Bee Stamps’ Autumn die set and die cut the the word layer from MFT’s Kraft cardstock and the first shadow layer from white cardstock from my stash. I ink blended the bottom of the die cut word with Pinkfresh Studio’s Doe ink to give it an ombré effect. I love how the white shadow makes the sentiment standout and ties in with the card base.
For the second part of the sentiment, I used the coordinating Honey Bee Stamps’ Autumn stamp set and stamped “greetings” onto MFT’s Kraft cardstock with Pinkfresh Studio’s Doe ink and then die cut it with one of the dies from Lawn Fawn’s Extra Sentiment Banners die set.
Finishing Touches
To add just a bit more sparkle to the card, I added several Studio Katia’s Gold Sparkle crystals and three Trinity Stamps’ Coffee Bean Heart sprinkles to the card. I absolutely love these and they look so pretty in person!
I hope you are having a wonderful day. Thanks for stopping by!
