Hi Everyone,
For Christmas last year my husband received a Tiki cocktail recipe book so for his birthday I wanted to make him a Tiki themed card. Upon seeing Sunny Studio’s Tiki Time stamp set I knew there was no better set to use to make my idea come to life.
Images
I started by stamping some of the adorable images from the Sunny Studio’s Tiki Time, Fabulous Flamingos, and Tropical Scenes stamp sets onto Neenah Solar White, 80 lb, cardstock with Lawn Fawn’s Jet Black ink and then colored them with Copic markers. Next, I cut all the images out with the Tiki Time, Fabulous Flamingos, and Tropical Scenes coordinating dies.
Background
To created the background, I started by ink blending the sky using MFT’s Mini Cloud Edges stencil and Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass ink. Next, I used one of the dies from Lawn Fawn’s Simple Stitched Hillside Borders to die cut the ground and ink blended Distress Oxide Scattered Straw and Tea Dye inks to create the sand.
Scene Elements
Once the background elements were created I die cut four Palm Trees using Lawn Fawn’s Hammock and Trees die set. Next, I ink blended Distress Oxide Vintage Photo, Mowed Lawn, and Forest Moss inks onto the color cardstock to give the tree trunks and leaves more dimension.
Sentiment and Finishing Touches
I stamped one of the sentiments from Sunny Studio’s Fabulous Flamingos stamp set onto white cardstock and using VersaFine Clair’s Nocturne ink. Next, I die cut the sentiment and then blended Distress Oxide Tea Dye ink onto it.
For finishing touches, I added a layer of black Sakura Gelly Roll pen to the eyes of all the critters eyes and went over the Toucan’s and Flamingo’s beaks as well as the drink glasses with Glossy Accents. Lastly, I added Spectrum Noir Crystal Clear Sparkle pen onto the white flowers, Nuvo’s Sunlit Sienna Aqua Shimmer pen onto the torch flames, and lastly used Nuvo’s Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer pen on the pineapple.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for stopping by and spending a little time with me today!
