Hi Everyone,
With Father’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to make my Dad a special card and knew he’d love the images from Lawn Fawn’s Rawrsome stamp set. These little Dinos are just way too cute! I also wanted to try my hand at a monochrome card.
Images
I started by stamping many of the images from the Rawrsome stamp set onto Neenah Solar White, 110 lb, cardstock with Ink on 3’s Blackout Ink and colored them using Copic markers.
Scene Elements
To create the scene, I wanted some additional mountains behind the volcano so using one of the dies from Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Mountain Borders I die cut a piece of Lawn Fawn’s Narwhal cardstock and inked the top of the mountains with Lawn Fawn Narwhal and Storm Cloud inks. I then used two of the dies from Lawn Fawn’s Simple Stitched Hillside Borders to make two hills for the Dinos to stand on and then added ink to the tops of the hills using Lawn Fawn Soot and Deep Sea inks.
Next, I die cut some vegetation from Lawn Fawn’s Storm Cloud and Dolphin cardstocks which I tucked into the hills and behind the critters. To create the sky, I used Lawn Fawn’s Slimline Cloudy stencils to lightly add clouds to a piece of Lawn Fawn Dolphin cardstock with Lawn Fawn’s Manatee ink.
Sentiment and Finishing Touches
For the sentiment, I created a custom one using Lawn Fawn’s Rawrsome stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Lawn Fawn’s Dolphin cardstock with Lawn Fawn’s Soot ink. Next, I die cut the sentiment with a banner die from my stash and then lightly inked the banner with Lawn Fawn’s Narwhal ink.
To add finishing touches, I went over all the Dinos eyes with Sakura Black Glaze Pen to make them come to life. Lastly, I added a layer of Ranger’s Glossy Accents to the lava.
I hope you enjoyed this fun card. Thanks for stopping by!
