Hi Everyone,
Today, I wanted to share a happy card featuring one of Whimsy Stamps beautiful mermaid stamp sets. I really love their mermaid stamps including this lovely stamp set, Naia the Mermaid. Sadly, this stamp is no longer available but Whimsy does have several other beautiful mermaid stamps such as Let’s be Mermaids, Elania, and Mermaid Escape.
Image
I stamped Naia onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock using VersaFine Clair’s Nocturne ink and then embossed her with Hero Arts’ Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder. Next, I used a combination of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Arteza Real Brush Pens to color her.
Background and Dies
For the background, I use Whimsy Stamps’ Mermaid Scales Stencil and Nuvo’s Coastal Surf Embellishment Mousse. Once the panel dried I used a die from Hero Arts’ Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies to cut a heart out of the the background panel. Next, I took the remaining background panel and ink blend Lawn Fawn’s Bubblegum ink onto it – I love this pink with the blue Nuvo mousse.
Using a larger die from Hero Arts’ Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies set, I cut a piece of Tonic Studios’ Honey Gold Satin Mirror cardstock and then adhered the heart with the stenciled scale design on top. At this point, I felt like the card was missing something so I cut a smaller heart using the same die set out of Tonic Studios’ Pink Champagne Embossed Cotton Paper. I love how much texture this pretty little heart adds to the card.
Sentiment
Since the card had a lot of textures going on I wanted to keep the sentiment simple. So, I used Sunny Studio’s Hello Word die to cut a piece of Tonic Studios’ Honey Gold Satin Mirror cardstock – I love how this ties in the pretty gold heart.
I hope you enjoyed the card! Thanks for stopping by!
