Hello Everyone,
Looking out my windows I see signs of Spring everywhere! We’ve had our first daffodils and crocuses bloom. My cherry tree is full of blossoms and the world looks lovely! It’s such a nice sight in these very uncertain times when the world seems so upside down. To celebrate all these lovely flowers I pulled out a stamp set I’ve been wanting to use for awhile, Reverse Confetti’s Peony stamp set.
Images
For this card, I wanted to create something dramatic so I decided I would only color the large Peony bloom from the set and leave the rest of the card black and white – well black and gray, really.
To start, I determined where I wanted the flower to be on the card and then stamped the leaves onto the MFT Grout Gray card panel using VersaFine Clair’s Nocturne ink and heat embossed them with Hero Arts’ Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder. Next, I stamped the Peony onto a separate piece of MFT’s Grout Gray cardstock using the same ink and heat embossed it and then colored it using Arteza Colored Pencils. After the coloring was complete I die cut the flower using the coordinating dies and popped it up on the card panel using foam tape.
Sentiment
I wanted the sentiment to be simple but have the same lovely feel as the flower. So, I pulled out MFT’s Little Hello die and die cut the word using Tonic Studios’ Black Velvet Satin Mirror cardstock and the shadow using MFT’s Grout Gray cardstock. I adhered the word and shadow together and then adhered the sentiment directly to my card panel.
Finishing Touches
At this point I felt like the card needs a little something more so I pulled out Studio Katia’s Onyx and Gray Clouds crystals and sprinkled them along the floral area of the card. I also added a few to the flower center.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you are staying safe and healthy!
