Valentine Penguins Love Card

Hi Everyone,

Since Valentines Day is so quickly approaching I thought it’d be fun to share a love themed card using Gerda Steiner Designs’ Valentine Penguins stamp set.

The penguin holding the balloon in this set really stole my heart so I decided to stamp him three times in different positions so it would appear as if an entire group of penguins was floating away. To fill in the white space between the penguins I stamped a heart balloon and additional heart image from Pink & Main’s Hedgehugs stamp set. I think this really makes it feel like the sky is full of balloons.

I colored these images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush makers in shades similar to the heart pattern paper I wanted to use from my stash.

Assembly

I used red cardstock for my card base and layered the heart pattern paper to the right I then placed a red polka dot strip between the pattern paper and the penguin panel.

For my sentiment I used Honey Bee Stamps’ Hugs die. I cut it out of the same red cardstock as my card base and used white cardstock for the shadow layer so the word really pops.

Card Front Finishing Touches

To make the balloons a little more special I added a layer of Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen and covered them with Glossy Accents.

Inside of the Card

For the inside of the card, I stamped another penguin image and sentiment from the Valentine Penguins stamp set in Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink. I also added a few hearts from Hedgehugs stamp set in Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
