Hi Everyone,
Every year I’m excited to create Christmas cards – something about them just make me so happy! I’ve had Neat and Tangled’s Santa’s Wonderland stamp set in my stash for awhile and just had to use the cute Santa this year. Sadly, this set is now retired but hopefully this card will give you inspiration on how to use another set in your stash if you don’t have this one.
Images
To create this sweet card I stamped two of the images from the Santa’s Wonderland stamp set onto Neenah Solar White, 110 lb, cardstock with Ink on 3’s Blackout Ink and colored them using Copic markers. Next, I went over Santa’s eyes with a black Sakura Gelly Roll pen to make them shine.
Background
On this card I may have gone a little background crazy but I really do love how it turned out.
To start, I die cut a piece of green cardstock from my stash using Sunny Studio’s Christmas Garland Frame die. Next, I die cut a frame using one of the dies from Hero Arts’ Wood Frame die set out of Lawn Fawn’s Paper Bag cardstock and inked the edges with Pinkfresh Studio’s Gather Twigs and Espresso inks. After this was done I adhered Lawn Fawn’s Pixie Dust Sparkle cardstock to the wood frame to create the illusion of snow.
Lastly, using one of the dies from Sunny Studio’s Fancy Frames Circle dies I cut two circle frames one from MFT’s Sour Apple cardstock and another from white cardstock. I used these two circles to frame the stamped images and give them visual importance.
Sentiment
To create the sentiment, I used Honey Bee Stamp’s Fa La La dies and cut the shadow layer out of Tonic Studios’ Scarlet Organza Satin cardstock and the word out of white cardstock. After this was complete I stamped “merry christmas” from Simon Says Stamp’s Tiny Words Christmas stamp set using Lawn Fawn’s Chili Pepper ink onto white cardstock and die cut it with one of the dies from Simon Says Stamp’s Sentiment Labels dies.
Finishing Touches
To add finishing touches, I went over the red parts on the sign, the Christmas tree, and the star with Ranger’s Christmas Red, Holly, and Golden Rod Stickles. To Santa’s belt and shoes I added a layer of Ranger’s Glossy Accents. Finally, I added some white gel pen highlights to Santa’s clothes.
Thanks for spending some time with me today. I hope you have a wonderful day and stay safe!
