Hi Everyone,
You know that feeling when you see a stamp set you’re so absolutely in love with that you think you’re heart will break if you don’t get it? Well, that’s how I felt about Mama Elephant’s Dandelion Wishes stamp set. The images in this set are so ridiculously cute and I love the beauty behind the idea of making wishes on the Dandelion seeds — who didn’t do that as a kid?!
Image
For this card, I really wanted to highlight one of my favorite images from this set the sweet little raccoon. I stamped the raccoon onto a piece of Neenah Solar White, 110 lb, cardstock with Ink on 3’s Blackout Detail Ink and used Copic markers to color him in.
Background
I wanted the backdrop for my raccoon to be a beautiful sunset so I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and blended the following Distress Oxide inks: Dried Marigold, Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick, and Aged Mahogany. After blending the inks I used the Distress Sprayer to add some texture to the background.
Sentiment and Assembly
I stamped one of the lovely sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Dandelion Wishes stamp set directly below the image. Next, using my paper trimmer I cut a straight line on either side of the image (making sure not to cut it!) and then fussy cut around the top 3/4 of the image.
Once dry, I adhered the sunset background directly to a white card base and then popped up the bottom panel, with the image and sentiment, using foam tape. Next, I cut a piece of the same white cardstock and adhered it to the top of the card with foam tape.
Finishing Touches
Using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen I added white dots to the mushroom tops and I darken the raccoon’s eyes and nose using a black Sakura Gelly Roll pen. Lastly, I add a bit of gold shimmer to the center of the Dandelion with Nuvo’s Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer pen.
I hope you enjoyed the card today! Thanks for stopping by!
