Hi Everyone,
Over the last year or so I’ve developed a deep love for background stamps because they add so much interest to cards and there are many techniques you can do with them. Some of my favorite background stamps come from Simon Says Stamp and today I’m using two beautiful ones Simon Says Stamp’s Pretty Peonies Background and Simon Says Stamp’s Plank Background.
Focal Panel
I instantly fell in love with Simon Says Stamp’s Pretty Peonies Background – the flowers are gorgeous! I thought this background would be lovely heat embossed so I stamped it onto Lawn Fawn’s Vanilla Malt cardstock using Ranger’s Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder. Next, I selected three shades of pink Faber Castell’s Polychromos color pencils and colored only the center flower. I love how selective coloring makes this flower pop while the other flowers and leaves look stunning in the gold heat embossing.
Background
I created my card base from Lawn Fawn’s Sage Leaf cardstock and heat embossed it with Simon Says Stamp’s Plank Background using Ranger’s Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder. I love how this background adds interest to the card base but doesn’t compete with the focal panel.
Sentiments
For my sentiments, I used Simon Says Stamp’s Big Friend Wafer Dies and cut the word out of Tonic Studios’ Pink Chiffon Mirror cardstock and the shadow out of Lawn Fawn’s Vanilla Malt cardstock. I think this ties in the pretty pink color form the follower while not being too bold. I also added a smaller sentiment using Simon Says Stamp’s Delicate Flowers stamp set which I heat embossed onto the Lawn Fawn’s Vanilla Malt cardstock using Ranger’s Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.
Thanks for stopping by and spending a little time with me today!
