Hi Everyone,
Growing up my Mom grew Fuchsias – now seeing them always makes me think of her. When Avery Elle came out with the Hummingbird stamp set I had to snatch it up. It’s beautiful and features lovely Fuchsias and a gorgeous Hummingbird too! Sadly, this set is discontinued but you can still buy it at A Cherry on Top.
Images
I began by stamping some of the images from Hummingbird stamp set on onto Neenah Solar White, 110 lb, cardstock with VersaMark ink. Next, I heat embossed them with Simon Says Stamps’ Antique Gold embossing powder. This looked so pretty I almost wanted to leave the card just like this!
Watercolor
To color the images I thought it would be fun to watercolor them using Distress Oxide Sprays. For the flowers I used a combo of Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, and Wilted Violet and for the greenery I used Mowed Lawn. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out! The oxides have interesting colors that oxidize as you paint – so beautiful!
Sentiment and Finishing Touches
For the sentiment, I heat embossed one from Avery Elle’s Sentimental stamp set using Simon Says Stamps’ Antique Gold embossing powered.
As a final touch I used Gansai Tambi’s Starry Colors to splatter the card with Champagne Gold droplets – so happy with how this all turned out!
Thanks for stopping by and spending a little time with me today!
